Cost of your life....

Great day to be alive!

Have you seen the cost of fitness lately? Its outrageous right? $50 a month for a gym membership. $75-100 a session for personal training! These guys are crazy!

Let that set in for a second....

Set in yet?

OK, so now that you have thought about it, lets break this down.

-Cigarettes are $6-10 a pack. If you smoke 1 pack a day, which is the national average, you are spending $180-300 dollars a month.

-Fast food costs about $10 a meal.... Lets say you are eating one meal of fast food daily (Some days more, some days less. That's another $300 a month.

-Do you like Designer coffee? I won't say a brand name, but lets say that you go to that Seattle based coffee chain and get 1 large coffee a day. $4.... That's $120 a month...

So now that we have discussed all of the stuff that can potentially kill you, whats your life worth to you?

Is it worth less than that daily pack of cigarettes? That daily coffee?

Lets break this down a little further. I am only speaking for myself here, so please hear me out. I, as a personal trainer, care about each and every one of my athletes. They work hard for me, and I work hard for them. A lot of people don't understand the price of personal training though. They think that price they are paying is for one hour.

IT'S NOT.... Read that again...

Lets start with the prices: There are many options. Including a class type setting, (Shown under the explanation) which is cheaper but not as "personal". The price gets cheaper with the more people you sign up with (Price is per Client)!

Clients
Per--------Base Fee Per
Group-----Session ---------Pkg of 6------Pkg of 12
1-----------$50.00------------$285.00------$540.00
2-----------$45.00------------$257.00------$486.00
3-----------$40.00------------$228.00------$432.00
4-----------$35.00------------$200.00------$378.00
5-----------$30.00------------$171.00------$324.00

Included in that price is:

1) one hour of one on one fitness training
2) support for any questions you may have at any time of they day. There has been many times I have answered a text at midnight from a client.
3) Nutritional Support
4) A personalized program to do while you aren't with the trainer.
5) Someone to help you through your journey, and hold you accountable.

Still think its too expensive? Classes are $150 a month.... That's every Monday and Wednesday from 5:30pm until 6:30pm. Lets say there are 8 workout days a month. That's $18.75 a session.... That includes everything as above, except the personalized plan. You will be working with a class, and you will be working out with other that have similar goals as yourself.

The Waiting Game

OK, so maybe these are the absolute extremes. My point is, what are you waiting for? Are you sitting around thinking that, oh, I need to get healthy, but I will just start tomorrow? Thinking that, "Oh, New Years is right around the corner, I'll start working out then"?

WRONG!

The longer you wait the more likely nothing will get done. Its a fact.

Your health is important to your family, friends, and most of all you! Don't delay starting your journey. Fitness isn't just for the big or small people trying to either get smaller or become a bodybuilder. Fitness is for everyone. Some things I have learned over the years:

1) Exercise will help you relieve stress. Had a hard day at work? Go lift some weights, or go for a walk. It will do wonders.

2) Everyone can be fit. Now, lets not be misled. Like everything else, fitness takes time. Want to lose weight. If you lost 1 pound a week, you would lose 52 pounds a year. Want to be stronger? If you add 5 lbs onto your bench press every month, in a year you would be 60 pounds stronger.

3) What you eat, and exercise, WILL effect how you feel. Are you putting the wrong food into your body? If you are, it ca make you feel sluggish, tired, or even irritable. Have you ever heard of the after lunch crash? This happens from the wrong type of foods. You don't have to starve yourselves either. I mean it! You can lose weight by exercise and just eating the right types of food!

        My Fitness Story:

I started in fitness when I was very young, playing baseball, football, and wrestling throughout high school in a small town in Maryland. After high school, I joined the military for the first time. Once I got out, I learned that eating was a great thing. In 2012, I knew I needed a change. I weighed 335lbs, and it was time for me to get fit again. Through hard work and a sensible diet, by late 2012, I weighed 190lbs, and went into the Army Reserves.

See the change. With hard work and a sensible diet, anything is possible.
